Very Rare Treasures of the Mayas Silver Medals with 24 Karat Gold 1979

  

These very rare First Edition medals were issued in limited edition by the Museo Nacional de Antropologia/ the National Museum of Anthropology in Mexico City in 1979. The medals were minted by the Franklin Mint de Mexico in solid sterling silver vignetted in 24 karat gold. The twelve medals are forty five millimeters each and each weigh one ounce, for a total of twelve oz of sterling silver content. The backs of the medals display the name of the Mayan archaeological site at which each cultural treasure pictured was found, and the name given to each treasure itself.
