This lot contains the 1971 and 1972 sets totaling 10 Silver Rounds! This beautiful set of 10 medals was minted by the Franklin Mint in 1973. There were 40 medals in all issued as four sets of 10 each.
Each medal in this collection honors the history, culture and people of the tribe it represents and was designed with close cooperation of the appropriate tribal leaders. This was the first set issued in the series and the medals honor the Havasupai, Hopi, Apache, Rosebud Sioux, Paiute, Navajo, Crow, Osage, Papago, and Yakima Indian Tribes.
The medals are minted in. 999 Fine Silver and are marked on the edge with content, date, serial number and makers mark. Each 39mm medal weighs 25.4 grams.
