Franklin Mint Centennial Car Ingot Collection 100 Sterling Silver Proofs

  
Collectors item containing 100 sterling silver medal proof quality ingots. This set was issued in 1975 by the Franklin Mint. Each ingot is minted in. 925 sterling silver and represents one model of car for each year from 1875 forward. The back side of each ingot provides historical information as to the car.

Included is a custom wood chest cabinet, along with two books, one describing each of paintings as depicted on the silver coins, and, one pertaining to Rembrandt, the artist. Each ingot measures 2" x 1.25" x 1/8. Each ingot weight 1000 grains which is 64.80 grams or 2.1 troy ounces.

Total Silver Weight: 6.48 kilograms or 208.30 Troy Ounces. Comes complete with leather tooled wooden chest containing 4 trays, each holding 25 ingots. If you will note, as set forth in the bronze plaque on the top of the wooden chest, this particular set was minted expressly for my grandfather (his name is blocked by the pencil).

The overall dimensions of the wood chest cabinet are: 18.25" x 13" x 7.75. Each individual drawer measures 16.5" x 11.5" x. Total weight of all components: Approximately 50 lbs.
