Franklin Mint - Art Medal -'Bunraku' by Shigemi Kawasumi 1972 - Sterling silver Description. This is a Franklin Mint art medal, titled'Bunraku' by Japanese artist Shigemi Kawasumi. This limited edition piece is part of The Societe De La Sculpture De Medalles set. The set is a commission of original masterpieces by the world's foremost artists.
The medal was struck at The Franklin Mint, and is solid sterling silver. I weighed the medal using a food scale, and it weighed 208 grams as shown in the video. In the packaging, I have it's original box, coin box, display stand, "Bunraku" booklet, and certificate of authenticity. Physically the coin is in very good condition for it's age & rarity. The "Bunraku" booklet has some marks and light debris on it, but is in good condition otherwise.
The certificate of authenticity is in very good condition as well. The green inner portion of the box is deteriorating from age, and the it's flaking, peeling, and leaving green dust everywhere. The black display box for the coin is slightly faded, and has a lot of that green residue on it as well, but the inside is in good shape.
The black display stand has some light surface level marks on it's finish. Finally, the larger outer box is also deteriorating from age and storage. The box is warped with tears and damage around the corners & edges. I've taken several photos of this Franklin Mint art medal, titled'Bunraku' by Japanese artist Shigemi Kawasumi to show off it's condition, as well as what's included. Please look through the photos carefully and check it out for yourself. Item comes as-is, in photographed condition.
