These unique medals were issued by the Royal Shakespeare Company and were minted at the Franklin Mint. This is the first ever series of art medals issued by the Royal Shakespeare Company, and it honors the 350th anniversary of the publishing of the "First Folio", the first edition of William Shakespeare's plays. The "First Folio" is widely considered to be one of the most famous pieces of literature in history. This set includes 38 medals total, one for each of Shakespeare's plays.

The obverse of each medal contains a portrait pertaining to the play, and the reverse has a famous quote from the play. All of the medals are as issued and are sterling silver. Each medal weighs 1.2 Troy Ounces. Truly a very special set! Back of binder has a visible residue stain along one edge (see last photo) and a few of the medals show slight toning.
