Complete 135 sterling silver ingot member set showing the official flag of each country that is a member of the United Nations; the set was issued when there were 135 U. The ingots are housed in the floor-standing two drawer mahogany display cabinet it came with (22 x 18 x 6.5).

Each ingot is approximately 1/2" x 1 1/2" but vary to the proportion of the flag it depicts. The reverse carries the name of the nation in English, the date of admissions to the U.

And the name of the nation in its own language. The design of each flag was authenticated by Dr. Whitney Smith of the Flag Heritage Foundation. Comes with the collectors Certificate of Authenticity booklet, in mint condition, that was built up page by page as each ingot was delivered certified on March 15, 1974. CONDITION Ingots are in structural excellent condition with no dings or scratches but require removing and/or re-coating the protective plastic. Upon our move from Canada to the U. We had wrapped the drawers with cellophane to keep the ingots from shifting in the move; unbeknownst to us, the cellophane would stick to the plastic protective coating on the ingots and upon removing the cellophane, it also removed some of this coating which exposed them to be sticky that through out the years, collected dirt which is visible in the images provided above. The conditions of the ingots are in otherwise excellent condition with no nicks as they were rarely handled or moved from the cabinet that they have been encased in for 43 years.

It is buyers discretion to have ingots cleaned and restored to it's original luster. At this point, I would recommend just removal of the coating to bring it to it's original silver as it is unnecessary to have them coated if they are not handled often. The cabinet shows some age in that the felt blue holder of the ingots has faded to a light purple.

This is noticeable once an ingot is removed showing the original royal blue of the felt underneath. The cabinet wood itself has some nicks as visible in the images provided.
