Franklin Mint Gold/Silver 999 Plated Viking Dagger in Display Cabinet. In good condition and dates from the year 1988. Comes in the original nice display case including the key for opening and locking the case. Has a total length of around 50cm (20 inches) the dagger itself has a length of around 37cm (15 inches).This dagger was manufactured in tempered steel, with gold-plated and silver plated motifs and hand-inlaid with red crystal cabochons. On the blade on both sides there is a 24 k gold plated engraved illustration. The Vikings believed that an image of a dragon would protect them against evil spirits, hence the dragon head at the end of the handle. The dragon head is silver-plated with a 24 k gold-plated ball in its mouth. The cabinet is made of wood with a beautiful deep blue ruffled inlay and fitted with a glass plate.
