Obverse Designed by mint chief sculptor-engraver John R. Sinnock, the obverse features a profile view of Benjamin Franklin. The portrait is based on an 18th century bust by sculptor Jean-Antoine Houdon. Franklin was an American printer, scientist, inventor, and diplomat.

Reverse The reverse showcases the Liberty Bell, based on a sketch by John Frederick Lewis. It represents the city of Philadelphia and the birth of the nation. About Franklin Halves Early American coinage depicted figures from symbolism and allegory, like Lady Liberty for example. In 1948, American coinage faced a significant change when coins started depicting actual Americans instead.

The artistic &###x201C;golden era&###x201D; had come to an end as history replaced imagery at the US Mint. This change begun with the introduction of the Franklin Half Dollar. Despite their popularity, these coins had a short production run due to the decision by Congress in late 1963 to issue a new half dollar to memorialize the martyred president. These coins will arrive in average circulated condition and may show signs of aging and wear, though the year of issue will be decipherable.

The date you receive will be chosen at random according to our current inventory. These coins offers investors an affordable, convenient, and easily divisible means of owning silver.

Regardless of what happens to the price of silver, 90% silver coins will always be worth at least their face value. For this reason alone, 90% silver coins are a smart way to hedge against more volatile investments.
