Pristine Condition, Issued: October 26, 1973, The Franklin Mint, History of Flight, 100. 925 Cameo-Proof silver Rounds equaling 125 troy ounces Sterling Silver. Considering the age of the set (47 yrs) which you would not know by examining it if the date were not included. You would think it to be much newer than it is.
On the obverse side of each round depicts the first type craft to initially complete the flight feat. The reverse side, tells a brief description of flight feat. Also included is a small binder which includes a longer version of the feat of flight accomplished. I only very carefully removed two rounds from their sealed plastic capsule (1st issue and last) with dry soft cloth in order to show the naked beauty of the rounds.I have never before removed them. (Never touch them with a bare hand).
Always store in what seems to you to be a dry place. When the lighting is shown on the right angle of any piece, you can visualize the cameo surface.
If the light doesn't hit it properly, you can not see the surfaces this way. Please keep this in mind when scrutinizing the various high definition photos supplied.
I've owned this set for twenty years and now I feel it's time for someone else to cherish them as I do now. I've only seen a few of these through the years. To come across one this nice is truly rare indeed. My current asking price is below anything I've seen of late. This item will soon be an antique, (If not considered to be one already) and I feel this is a rare opportunity for you to own one of the, if not the finest one available anywhere.
